Orchid Pattern….and more!

Orchid Pattern….and more!

I love orchids… so there was no other way around as creating Romanian Point Lace pattern out of it. There is no particular, orchid that I love more, I find them all insanely gorgeous.

So I made a few orchid designs, that not only look great on its own but fantastic as a group. You can create a fabulous unique Point lace doily out of it and so much more!

Since the baby is born, I had no extra time to devote to the orchids and create a full doily out of it, but I am sure you can with the help of these patterns!

There is a red one, a blue and a dusty pink that has an actual doily pattern to it! I am sure you will love it!

You can find them all in the shop section HERE  Happy Shopping! Enjoy!

I enjoyed creating them all, but I can’t make up my mind, which one is my favorite! What orchid is your favorite and why?

I love them all in a way but what I liked the most, was working with this amazing thread by Romanofir. If you want to try this type of thread, check it out HERE !

This thread is soft, silky but holds its power! It’s organic and comes from a very long tradition of

PS: Call me crazy but I smudged the crochet hook before starting each pattern and also I smudged each pattern after I was done working on it! The pattern got it’s energy back- it takes a lot of energy working on the pattern!

Karl

Karl

And it all started with her… the founder and genius of CHANEL, COCO CHANEL. After her, for decades KARL…. Like Chanel, as she was known as COCO, he was simply called KARL. Two unique and original people who truly changed the world and left us amazed and happy.

Now the Karl Otto Lagerfeld, passed, all we have left are his creations, that were so unique, controversial, like his runway shows and of course his quotes…. It got to a point where a new word was invented to describe his style , and opinions- KARLISM!

Yes, google it, and it will come up! I always admired his fashion and personal style. A true artist, that influenced my opinion in art and fashion of course. HIs style was even an excuse not to clean up my desk as a kid.

He had a lot to say, a man who kept for himself, in a world of art, books, and photography. I never illustrated or sketched his fashion, because simply I believed I was not worthy of this, simply because he did a fantastic job in sketch and product. But with that said I was a huge fan of his designs. He dived deep into the world of each collection he was inspired by and needed total privacy and solitude to create.

I always illustrated CHANEL perfumes and accessories…. It was and is my homage not only for COCO but also for KARL.

But now what comes next for the house of CHANEL? The new creative director is the Right Hand of the Maestro Virginie Viard. Click HERE to find more out about her! If she was the right hand I think we can only smile to what Chanel will have to offer in the near future! I am looking forward to see the next Chanel collection and so should you!

And RED it is…..

And RED it is…..

And RED it is….

If you work with threads and yarns, like me, you know the difficulties sometimes to choose colours… It;s not that I can;t match and mix, that’s not it…. it;s the possibilities…. oh boy…..

So to get some feedback, I asked my followers form IG click HERE to follow….. to pick between green and red shades.

And the crowd has spoken! And RED it is…..  To the simple crochet pattern I will add Romanian Point Lace designs, of course in traditional Romanian Point Lace designs, floral and organic elements. These elements will be in Bordeaux and Red…. later on for the top should part will be a lighter colour. The lighter colour is still not picked but it will probably be a pink shade…. something lighter to brighten up the neckline.

The Romanian Point Lace will be a mix of colours and cords. as well as an organic pattern.

As I started the project I wanted to start with a different Romanian Point Lace cord. It is wider and flatter with the Bordeaux. Check it out in the picture below!

It takes a while to get used to it, since it;s different from all the other cords but it;s fun and great for Crochet clothing giving it a clean edge and fine result. It;s neat and holds it;s shape great.

As you can see, the cord has a wave pattern in it. and once achieving the right length, you can start with the crochet part of the design. It is easy to create a design by using the edges of the cord….

The first block of colour in this case Bordeaux, counting 20 rows of crochet a second colour block will follow in Red, Since this project is still wip….. I can;t tell you how many rows of red will be made. So far it;s around 25…..

Now for the Romanian Point Lace part, I started in Bordeaux see below…..

It;s always an interesting process, meditative to me and relaxing to sew the cord to the calico and thinking about the fillings. Some of the fillings you can see in the image below. Remember, do not so more thn 3 designs in one element!

crochet clothing. So stay tuned to more updates!

Be grateful…even for Coffee!

Be grateful…even for Coffee!

There is always something to be grateful for…. Yes, I know we all are kinda grateful but these days in a Me Me Me culture, where only artificial intelligence counts, the likes and followers matter most, I think it’s good to step back each day and be grateful.

You don’t need to make it big and difficult.. How about being grateful for coffee… ?! Crazy, you say? Not at all!

Think about, just for a minute!

You wake up and there is no coffee!? Panic, stress and your day is already messed up! Right?

It goes deep, the coffee farmer, the coffee picker, the coffee company , the store where you purchase it, etc…. See it;s a long chain and this is just scratching the surface! So,  be grateful even for coffee!

So, how can we feel better on a day to day level? Simple! Have an open mind, smile more, be grateful even for the small things. For the small items, moments and people that surround us.

Once grateful your lifestyle will change. You will feel refreshed full of energy and hope. To celebrate, I created a little print. It can be a little reminder how being grateful makes you better, nicer, and attract more good vibes.

To purchase this print, that ca be a fantastic gift, click HERE.
Are you grateful of small stuff as well? If yes, I am would love to hear about!

Comment below and let me know! Have a gorgeous day!
