Culinary Decor….

Culinary Decor….

I am sure you heard of CULINA…. Culina comes from latin and basically means culinary and translates into the simple work kitchen!

One day sitting in my garden I was sipping on a big cup of coffee and dreaming of the Lavender fields in my home country…. Romania. I miss the endless purple and pink fields of lavender….. I was asking myself where they are here in Australia and one step away voila a google search gave me the answer….

If you love lavender fields and live  in Australia, you might love to check out  HERE a fabulous purple lavender farm in Melbourne. I have not been myself, but I got inspired to create a new line in my art. Culinary herbs…..

I started to collect ideas, look around in my herb garden for inspiration… Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Coriander, Fennel, Oregano, Chives, Mint, and so much more…..

When you create, you need purpose and drive…. My drive was to create a new line that brings joy and freshens up your home. The Perfect little Fashionable – Culinary -Art came to life……

Please meet the gorgeous ladies….. available in the Etsy Shop….

I am Rosemary….

I am Basil….

I am Chives…..

And now let’s get back to Lavender….. Once winning the battle between … What is better Purple fields or pink fields…. Purple won! E voila take a look at the result… Lavender Lady- I am Lavender!

So feel free to visit these ladies and let me know how you feel about them? What is your favourite herb? I am sure you figured out that Lavender is my favourite so far….

Tulips….

Tulips….

I love flowers in general and always was dreaming and admiring gorgeous endless gardens. I always tried to grow many flowers. My balconies were always full with flowers during my Uni years….. Living on rest does not make it easy to grow may flowers, and I am exited when the time comes to own a place and have a dream garden….

But enough of daydreaming! When you can’t have a garden why not illustrate flowers to make a room nicer?

Living in Brisbane you are not far from Toowoomba  – City of flowers…. Here you find amazing flowers and fabulous Tulips……

So here we go …. inspired by one of my favourite flowers… TULIPS! I love them, and always did….

I made a print available here to celebrate tulips , fashion and Easter! It makes great gift for a flower enthusiast or somebody who enjoys the beauty of simple things.

Do you actually know the meaning of this particular flower, the tulip? If not here we go:

Tulips come from Persia, ( Iran ) and were introduced in the 16th century tot Turkey and finally in the 17th century to the Netherlands, where still today they are so popular that the country grows and exports them like crazy. The fields of tulips are the best in the Netherlands.

Also if you are in love with creating tulips in lace, here is a Romanian Point Lace kit for you!

The rival of the tulip is the classic Rose. Tulips are truly special. The inner centre of the tulip is, black and velvet like. It represents a lover;s heart since the 11th century. To receive a bouquet of tulips it stands for grace and elegance. When it comes to colours…. I love them all!

Do you love tulips ?

Let me know!

XO,

Lorena

Brisbane Blooms

Brisbane Blooms

A while ago I was taking part in an art competition at the Aspire Gallery called Petite Pieces. I am always exited to be part of such prestige competitions. It;s not my first time taking part and it;s always fun. I had a long break of two years due to my gorgeous little Andrada but now it was time to be an artist again.

For this year, I was inspired by the beautiful city that I live in Brisbane. The watercolour print is inspired by the vibrant , colourful city of Brisbane, so Brisbane Blooms was ready to meet the world.

Tulips, Magnolias, the fabulous Brisbane River, fashion portraits and Ink made this piece come to life. Brisbane runs in my little girls veins and means so much to my family now. She like this piece is a true Brisbanian.

Brisbane is always colourful, fun, vibrant and bright. Since fashion art is my thing, I got inspired by flower crowns, that are so popular here in Brisbane and the River that is so important to all of us. A blessing and a danger at the same time. The city is so stunning and full with flowers….

If you are interested in Brisbane Blooms, please contact the Gallery.

TBT Throwback Thursday

TBT Throwback Thursday

TBT aka Throwback Thursday….

We all know how time flies and I guess TBT – better known as Throwback Thursday reminds us so well how life goes by…. Years go by, social media changes, family grows, business goes up and down , etc….

Who actually invented #TBT , well this is a big mystery like the Bermudas I guess…

This is what Google said about… TBT

So pinpointing the true first #tbt post is tricky. Looking at Google Trends, though, it seems people started looking up Throwback Thursday more regularly in February 2012, and since then, interest in the hashtag game has increased substantially.May 30, 2013

What are your most memorable TBT?

This TBT , well a trip home… to Germany. Another TBT is dear to my heart like this one….

My Little one wearing a traditional Romanian Outfit…. All these memories stay with us TBT or not TBT….. What do you do with these type of memories…? You cherish them and you keep them in your soul, heart and mind….

Or this my teaching carrier started here in Brisbane, Australia.

What is your best or memorable TBT?
