A touch of purple…………….. A touch of black

A touch of purple…………….. A touch of black

A touch of Purple….A touch of Black

Have you ever asked yourself what attacks you to a colour? Me, always and every time it;s a different answer! Now I always liked Purple.

Not any kind of purple….. a dark deep, velvety purple…. and a touch of black….. I love purple and been always attracted to agate and amethyst. Purple Agate is one stone that I use on the regular in my designs. It calm the wearer, it hold on to good energy and creates a wonderful save environment for the one who wears it.

A reminder that I love Lavender, that I love creativity, luxury and royalty a colour that is a great representative for peace, dignity and mystery as well as magic, this is purple to me. It also represents the Crown Chakra ( head Chakra) it shows your connection to the universe and spiritual part in you. It;s your connection to creativity

How does purple make you feel? It makes me feel great. It makes me smile and creative. But how does black make you feel like?Elegant, classic, minimalist  and timeless. This is how it makes me feel.

I also want to you check out the video below. Guo Pei a fantastic Haute Couture designer…. She is amazing. Almost all her designs remind me of Romanian Lace and this last collection was exceptional. The

Isn’t her style amazing? The inspiration of the dark ages architectural design is stunning. The structure is fantastic and is so detailed. We lace makers can easy get inspired and create stunning Romanian Point Lace.

Did a colour ever inspire you? If yes, comment below and let’s talk about!

DADA…..

DADA…..

Inspiration…..DADA

Have you heard of DADA? Well yes, it;s a real WORD and yes you can find it in the Dictionary! DADA is famous in the world of ART in the world of FASHION….. It is a must in a cultural society.

What is DADA!

Dada was an art movement formed during the First World War in Zurich in negative reaction to the horrors and folly of the war. The art, poetry and performance produced by dada artists is often satirical and nonsensical in nature. (Wikipedia)

DADA defines itself and creates itself in the fashion world….. DADA originated in Europe 1916 and never actually stopped if you ask me….From Originator Marchel DuChamp the DADA movement in the fashion industry had a hard time first and was shocking. Vivienne Westwood, was one of the first fashion designers who broke the boundaries and DADA was born or moved into the fashion industry. After that it was easy and more acceptable for designers like Galliano , Maison Martin Margiela or Victor & Rolf to push more and more!

You probably think that these pigiont shoes are just art or insane, well theses days everything is DADA and it will go further and further… because we humans need to break through the boundaries, not only for our self but for future generations….. there is no stop to DADA or creativity…. All is possible!

So enjoy a cup of coffee, and create some DADA.….

By the way when I broke into a traditional world of Romanian Point Lace where everything is beige, ecru or white my colourful pieces and not traditional concept and approach to this antique lace making technique, was a shocking fabulous adventure!

Most people did not understand and did not like the idea that something so old and perfect…. is not colourful, not for the table and more….. meaning a wearable piece, a concept to take to another level.

Do you like DADA?

Happy Fashion Easter

Happy Fashion Easter

When it comes to Easter, I have a different approach to it….. I do not think Easter Hunt and Christian Easter, I think FASHION! Yup , FASHION, to be precise, I think Faberge Eggs. The most famous eggs were produced in Russia for Alexander III. Yup Russia, a country full of history and culture, gave us the Faberge Egg. A pure luxury a decadent gift.

In total 50 eggs have been created and 42 actually survived, so it;s understandable why they are so precious and so loved by collectors.  Carl Faberge was the creator of the Faberge Eggs.

The Faberge Egg has become the symbol of luxury. It is created with metals, precious stones and gemstones. The first egg was truly unique and egg within an egg. A white shell with platinum and a golden hen with the imperial crown.

The House of Faberge is an amazing brand and they came far along since the Imperial Eggs. You should check out the collections, right here.

Faberge was a great inspiration for the fashion industry. Take a look at these amazing pieces. Mary Katranzou’s 2012 collection was fabulous

Balmain and Alexander McQueen. These are amazing pieces that  originate in the Faberge Egg.

Let me know what you think about the Faberge Egg!

I got inspired by the Faberge Egg and here is what came out! A print inspired by flowers, Spring and a touch of fashion.

Tulips….

Tulips….

I love flowers in general and always was dreaming and admiring gorgeous endless gardens. I always tried to grow many flowers. My balconies were always full with flowers during my Uni years….. Living on rest does not make it easy to grow may flowers, and I am exited when the time comes to own a place and have a dream garden….

But enough of daydreaming! When you can’t have a garden why not illustrate flowers to make a room nicer?

Living in Brisbane you are not far from Toowoomba  – City of flowers…. Here you find amazing flowers and fabulous Tulips……

So here we go …. inspired by one of my favourite flowers… TULIPS! I love them, and always did….

I made a print available here to celebrate tulips , fashion and Easter! It makes great gift for a flower enthusiast or somebody who enjoys the beauty of simple things.

Do you actually know the meaning of this particular flower, the tulip? If not here we go:

Tulips come from Persia, ( Iran ) and were introduced in the 16th century tot Turkey and finally in the 17th century to the Netherlands, where still today they are so popular that the country grows and exports them like crazy. The fields of tulips are the best in the Netherlands.

Also if you are in love with creating tulips in lace, here is a Romanian Point Lace kit for you!

The rival of the tulip is the classic Rose. Tulips are truly special. The inner centre of the tulip is, black and velvet like. It represents a lover;s heart since the 11th century. To receive a bouquet of tulips it stands for grace and elegance. When it comes to colours…. I love them all!

Do you love tulips ?

Let me know!
